Trying to empower the women in my village!

Since I found out that my Laguna Women’s Group did receive the PCPP grant I had a meeting discussing about what are the first steps we are going to take. (We received 3,900.00 BZdollars). US $ 1 to BZ $2.

Here is a little about what my women’s group grant entails….

Indicators of Success

Required: Participants acquiring new knowledge or skills

(May include literacy technical or vocational skils or administrative and/or financial practices, ability to manage production, marketing or income-generating activities, or ability to obtain financial or technical assistance)

Who/how many? Fifteen women of the Laguna Women's Group in Laguna Village and twenty younger women in the community who are not yet associated with the group but live in the village.

What skills? Fifteen Women of Laguna will be trained in marketing and business skills .
Fifteen women will be trained in higher quality, newer varieties of cuxtal, basket, and jewelry making.
Twenty young women from Laguna Village will be trained in making basic crafts.

How will you know? Women will sign an attendance sheet for every session they attend. They will also demonstrate their new skills in the making of crafts (Cuxtal, baskets and jewelry) to be sold in Belize.
