Today we reached Xela! Quetzaltenango which the locals kindly shortened to (shell-ah)- this place is not too big, but not too small. It has a good range of hotels, hostels, restaurants, but it does not lose its national flavor. Today in Xela we first arrived and wanted pizza (so American) and then we split up and to wonder around and explore Xela. The four of us tried to find some open museums (which we didn’t find); however, we did find a local books store and delicious coffee shop.
After exploring we came back to the hostel and got ready to go to the first of the many Easter Processions we would see this week (Holy week).
