I traveled with Andrew to go to his house in Voorhees. I saw LC and her new boyfriend. She looked great. It was awesome seeing her. She is too cool! We went to lunch and then later we had dinner at Andrew’s house. He cooked (absolutely amazing!) some of the Mifflin party crew came over. It was great to see all the boys. We were supposed to go ice skating; however, Andrew left the keys to skate zone down the shore. So we went to the movies instead and saw the Last AirBender.

Pool Party
I miss my Aunt Jackie and Uncle Chris’s pool very much. It is gorgeous. I used to swim in it every morning before nannying. My mom, gram and I rode to Pennsylvania. We first went to see the movie toy story. It was so cute. It reminded me of my childhood… and then he went off to college. We all grow up!
Then we went back to my Aunt Jackie’s pool. All the kiddies were there! I swam for such a long time. Andrew showed up with a bottle of wine… so polite!!
After swimming Andrew and I went to where we went on our first date Jan 2009; a hibachi restaurant right near my grammoms house. It was so nice!!
After dinner we went back to my Aunts and stayed there late by the pool and the fire pit drinking a bottle of wine.

Birthday Party BBQ at my Dads
My dad had such a wonderful birthday party for me. It was delicious all food I don’t get in Belize. My dad’s BBQ chicken is the best ever!!! Also, Mrs. Husenica’s ham is amazing too! Andrew, his parents, my dad, Kelsey, Mike, Liz, and Kelly came… my sister was late. She had to surf first. The waves are too big.

Owen’s Pub Birthday Party
Sunday June 27, 2010 my mom had this awesome birthday party for me. The whole family was there including Andrew, Paula, and Mike! I was ecstatic to see everyone. The most shocking is how much the kids grow (Mike, Owen, Christina, Olivia, and my sister!) I gave gifts (my women’s groups crafts) to every person in my family. It felt good to give those presents because they support me so much.

Home in North Wildwood, NJ
I traveled up to Belize City and stayed with Christine. She was traveling the day before me; however, she said I could stay at her house. I enjoyed the night before she left I got to catch up with her and hear about how Belize City is and how teacher training was going up there. Surprisingly to me she loves Belize City. Belize City makes me a little nervous because there are so many reporting of crimes there. I am glad I am pretty safe in my village (knock on wood…and say a prayer).
So again I had a complicated flight sequence. I was going to take Maya Island Air to Cancun. Then I would take Spirit Airlines from Cancun to Fort Lauderdale and then to NJ. However, Maya Island Air was late right off the bat; hence why I missed my Spirit flight. I had to talk to the people in charge of Spirit Airlines. They said there was not another flight I could take until tomorrow. I had to pay 100 dollars to change my flight and then I had to pay 100 dollars for a hotel in Cancun. I stayed at the Marriot in Cancun which was gorgeous. I loved there swimming pool and gym. There food was fine dining but not that expensive that goodness. I wish someone was with me to enjoy the hotel with me.
The positive thing about missing my flight was that I got to talk to Cecy for free for about 3 ½ hours!!! I am extremely happy that I got to catch up with her. It has been a year since I have seen her. I talk to her for about 20 minutes maybe every two months. But, we don’t get to say everything that we want to say. So now I cam caught up to date on her life and she knows more about my Peace Corps experience in Belize.
I finally made the trip from Cancun to Fort Lauderdale then I had a 9hour layover. I couldn’t wait to just be home. Then when I arrived in Atlantic City I was sooo surprised!!! I was greeted by my mom, my grammom, my best friend Paula and Mike, as well of course Andrew Husenica!!! Ahhh it was sooo exciting to see them. It has been 10 months since I last saw them.
After we drove home I hung out with Paula, Mike and Andrew all night I was too energized to sleep.

Laguna Std. 6 (8th Grade) Graduation
It was so nice to attend the student’s graduation. All six of them are going to high school. One girl was not going however, we were able to find Belizean and US sponsors. Thank you Uncle Chris and the Brown Family.
The graduation theme was to reach for the stars and take one step at a time. The guest speaker was Joan Palmer who taught in Laguna for about 13 years and lived in my house. She loves loves loves Laguna as much as I do. Her speech was excellent because she was still here in Laguna when those 8th grade students were beginning school.
After the graduation one family invited me over for a graduation party. We had tamales. After the party was over I left Laguna to begin my journey home to NJ!!!!!

Bad day for Laguna Computer Lab :( :( :(
On June 21, 2010 we called a computer lab meeting with the village council, pta, alcalde, computer lab committee. They all voted to shut down the computer lab because there were mismanagement going on. The workers were not recording and collecting any money. Money was stolen out of the change box. The House of Prayer donated 5 packs of paper and I donated 3 packs of paper. Those packs went too quickly without any revenue. All 5,000 sheets of paper were finished in 2 months. We believe the workers and their family members were using the lab whenever they wanted because ink was finished in 2 months. Ink is $200.00 here in Belize too expensive for Laguna Gov’t School to replace. My principal was extremely upset that there was no ink or paper to print the final exams. Therefore, everyone agreed to shut down the lab and not to pay for internet anymore because we could not afford it. The lab will only be used for the schools use. It will be open in September, but without any internet. I am a bit sad one of my main projects just flopped. My new main focus now is opening a preschool in the Village of Laguna.
